Topic

In his 2021 book, Maverick: A Biography of Thomas Sowell, Jason Riley reviews and provides context for the ideas and scholarship of Thomas Sowell, who is one of the most significant economic scholars and social thinkers of the last half century.  In this book, Mr. Riley not only presents insights from his personal interviews with Thomas Sowell, but also he presents insights from many scholastic colleagues, former students, and acquaintances of Thomas Sowell.  (One of those former students of Thomas Sowell who was interviewed happens to be one of our Hayek Group founders Gerald O’Driscoll, and you can find a quote by Gerald about is professor Sowell in Jason Riley’s book!)

In his Hayek Group talk, Jason will draw from his understanding of Thomas Sowell’s work to provide Jason’s own perspectives of where we are as a nation and where we should go.
