PROMOTING FREEDOM AND THE PROSPERITY FREEDOM BRINGS

“A policy of freedom for the individual is the only true progressive policy.” This Friedrich Hayek quote is underappreciated. Freedom is an end worth pursuing independent of any goodness freedom brings, but freedom is also a means to many worthy ends, including prosperity for the individual, the family, the community, the state, and the nation.

Freedom is Valuable and Requires Personal Responsibility

The Hayek Group is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that promotes freedom and the prosperity freedom brings. Your donation to this charity facilitates this mission. The primary fundraising outreach of The Hayek Group is to place the Dave Ramsey financial literacy curriculum in Northern Nevada high schools. This aligns with Robert Kiyosaki’s idea that “You never have true freedom until you have financial freedom.” Donations also provide financial education and Hayekian education to college aged youth. Membership donations finance travel costs to bring in speakers for monthly dinner meetings whose talks support the mission.

High Interest Loans

Statistics show that many Nevadans are struggling with high interest loans, paying only the minimum amount required. We must take personal responsibility for our financial freedom.

Inadequate Financial Knowledge

Inadequate financial knowledge and student loan debt have become a massive obstacle to success and financial freedom for Nevada graduates. Students (all Nevadans) desperately need better financial education.

Business Opportunities

Northern Nevada has prospered due to financial stimulus, free market economics, and the business-friendly environment it offers. We must protect the strategic advantages Nevada offers.

Get Involved!

When you become a Hayek Group member, you promote freedom by supporting The Hayek Group’s monthly dinner meetings and travel costs of speakers. There are still other students in other high schools to reach in Northern Nevada. Our High School initiative is extremely efficient with a cost of only $33 per student, but we need your help!
You can support this effort by becoming an Educational Ambassador or making a one time financial literacy donation. You can support the financial fitness and freedom fitness of a college aged student (though not necessarily in college) with a $300 donation.
If you are interested in donating your time, our entire program is operated by an all-volunteer board, and we would certainly welcome your help!

BECOME A MEMBER

Since its inception in 2008, The Hayek Group has provided more than 100 speakers at its monthly dinners who inform, challenge and develop those who attend.

Since its inception in 2017, The Hayek Group financial education initiative has raised more than $300,000 to place the Dave Ramsey financial literacy curriculum in 26 different Northern Nevada high schools, serving thousands of students.

Since its inception in 2018, The Hayek Discussion Group has provided an online discussion of dozens of issues, allowing those who want to learn from others and inform others a place to communicate.

Since its inception in 2023, The Hayek Group has provided 10 college aged youth with financial literacy education and a Hayekian Education. This program is developing next generation leaders who understand why freedom is fruitful and fair.

When you attend a monthly dinner, you not only will hear an interesting speaker but you can meet a variety of interesting people. Each dinner opens with a short presentation on the mission of the Hayek Group, so you can learn about the group and ask questions.
